YMCA is essentially a lay movement. The Board of Directors, who are the full members have the supreme authority for taking decisions and directing the movement and its programmes to enable it to fulfill its objectives. The Board of
Directors is made up of 21 members, one-third of whom retire every year, seven representatives of Churches, and the Secretaries of the Bombay YMCA, who are ex-officio members of the Board.
